Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Opian Information Communication Tech PLC ("Opian," "we," or "us") collects, uses, and protects personal information on the opian.io website and related marketing properties. This policy applies only to opian.io and our marketing websites.

Important: This policy covers opian.io only. Opian's health system products (ForLab+, Link) are governed by separate data-protection agreements with their respective ministries of health.

What Data We Collect

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to understand how visitors use opian.io. Plausible is privacy-first and does not use cookies to track individual users. We collect anonymous data about pages visited, referral sources, and basic device information (browser type, operating system). No personal identification is possible.

Form submissions

When you submit a contact form or newsletter signup, we collect the information you provide: name, email, and any message or inquiry details. This information is used only to respond to your inquiry or send requested updates.

Automatically collected information

We may automatically collect information about your connection, such as your IP address (anonymized), browser type, and access times. This data is used only for security, system administration, and service improvement.

How We Use Your Data

  • To respond to your inquiries — If you contact us, we use your information to answer your questions and provide requested information.
  • To send newsletters — If you opt in, we send periodic updates about Opian's work and product releases.
  • To improve the website — We use analytics to understand how the site is used and make improvements.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services on opian.io. Each service has its own privacy policy:

  • Plausible Analytics — Privacy-first analytics. Plausible does not use cookies by default and does not track individual users.
  • Sanity — Content management. Opian's website content is managed through Sanity's CMS.
  • Resend — Email delivery. We use Resend to send newsletters and transactional emails. Resend does not use your email for marketing purposes.

Data retention

We retain contact form submissions and newsletter signup information for as long as needed to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, typically no longer than two years, unless you request deletion sooner. Analytics data is retained for a maximum of 90 days.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Right to access — You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to correction — You may request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Right to deletion — You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal obligations.
  • Right to opt out — You may unsubscribe from newsletters at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in our emails.

Cookies

Opian.io does not use cookies by default. If we implement cookies in the future, we will provide a notice and request your consent. Plausible Analytics, our analytics provider, does not set cookies.

International data transfer

If you are located outside Ethiopia, note that opian.io may process your information in Ethiopia and other jurisdictions. By using opian.io, you consent to such transfers.

Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, and disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is entirely secure.
